I am not your fit freak, gym rat, or calorie counting kind of girl. Mind you, I’m a firm believer in healthy living – mentally and physically. I admire those who are disciplined to stay consistent by following a routine and a proper diet. I can’t say that I always do, however being in my 30’s has opened my eyes. For those who are at this stage or have passed you know that your body begins to change, and feels different. I’m just trying to maintain what I have, in the most simple and natural way. Feel me?! I’m blessed to have a partner and friends who are part of the lifestyle, and who motivate me. Looking good comes from within. You can wear all the makeup in the world and rock the nicest threads, but it starts from eating right, physical activity and being in the proper sate of mind. I have a gym membership, but when I’m not in the mood to lift that iron sometimes I go salsa dancing, swimming, take in hot yoga or get in an intense run. The gym isn’t for everyone, and that’s ok. Not everyone craves to pump weights in sets of I don’t know how many, or squat until they can’t feel their buns anymore. We all have different goals, which is why it’s important to find what works best for you.
It doesn’t matter where I am, at home or traveling, I make sure that I find time to get in a sweat. I always travel with active wear, at least one outfit. Sports bra, t-shirt or tank top, and leggings. I always have a hard time finding the right leggings to hug my legs, waist and booty in the right places. Like jeans, finding leggings is like finding “the one”. When you find ones that fit, you want to hold onto them forever and never let go. I do have to say that my top two favourite fits by far are…drumroll please…Victoria’s Secret and my favourite, Lululemon. I know, so typical for the Canadian girl to choose Lulu, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Both are always so creative with their designs, are great quality, and did I mention they fit so right?
Please note that although committed I am open to other legging suggestions, only if you can convince me they were meant for me. *wink*
